Little Chef rOOTS

Little Chef Roots is an after-school culinary nutrition program designed for students ages 6-8! We bridge the gap between the classroom and the kitchen, moving beyond basic recipes to explore how food fuels growth, energy, and long-term wellness. Our mission is to empower the next generation to steward their health as a gift by mastering the science of nutrition through hands-on culinary education.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

Little Chef Roots is led by the founder of Sanatae Nutrition, a Master’s level nutrition professional dedicated to the science of wellness. With a background rooted in clinical understanding and community health, Isabel brings a kid-friendly, hands-on approach to the kitchen. Her goal is to teach students how food functions as fuel for their bodies and minds, ensuring every student feels empowered to explore, taste, and grow.

  • To ensure a safe and empowering environment for our young chefs (ages 6–8), Sanatae Nutrition follows the Project Thrive behavior standards:

    • Safety First: Students must follow all instructor directions regarding the use of kitchen tools and food safety.

    • Respectful Community: We treat our peers, instructors, and school property with kindness.

    • Active Engagement: We encourage curiosity and participation in all hands-on science and cooking activities.

    • Attendance Policy: As this program is free and space is limited, please notify the program coordinator of any absences. Repeated unexcused absences may result in the spot being offered to a student on the waitlist.

  • Participation in Little Chef Roots involves hands-on food preparation. By registering, parents/guardians acknowledge that:

    • Minors may encounter inherent risks associated with culinary activities (e.g., heat, kitchen tools, food handling).

    • Parents/Guardians are responsible for any medical costs arising from injury or illness.

    • This release discharges Proyecto Thrive and Sanatae Nutrition from liability for the duration of the Spring 2026 Semester.

  • All student information is kept strictly confidential and is only shared with the Summit School District and program instructors for safety purposes.

  • We love sharing the joy of culinary science! Sanatae Nutrition may take photos or videos during class to be used for educational or promotional purposes on our website or social media. You may opt-in or opt-out of this specifically on the registration form.
