FAQs
How should I store my Raiz Roja blend?
1
To keep the "roots" fresh and the aroma at its peak, store your jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the lid is tightened after every use. Since we use small-batch, natural ingredients without anti-clumping chemicals, a quick shake of the bottle before use is always a good idea!
Why does the recipe suggest "salt to taste"?
2
Raiz Roja is a Flavor Foundation, not a salt-bomb. As a Nutrition Scientist, I designed this blend to be low-sodium so you have total control over your palate and health. It is much easier to add a pinch of salt at the end than to fix a dish that is too salty! We recommend a 3/4 tsp pinch of high-quality salt for every cup of rice to perfectly elevate the flavor profile.
What does "12 Family Meals" actually mean?
3
Raiz Roja is designed for efficiency and versatility. The "12 meals" estimate is based on a mix of uses:
8 Family Sides (Rice): 8 tablespoons used to make 8 separate pots of our Signature Red Rice (1 cup dry rice each), which serves a family of four as a side.
4 Savory Bases (Broth/Soups): The remaining spice provides enough for roughly 4 cups of savory broth (using 1.5 teaspoons per 2 cups of water) for stews or beans. At $12.00 per jar, you are bringing scientist-formulated flavor to your table for just $1.00 per family meal.
Can I use this for more than just rice?
4
Absolutely. While it makes a "Delicious Red Rice," it is a Universal Plant-Based Consommé. Use it to deepen the flavor of lentil stews, season roasted vegetables as a dry rub, or as a savory base for plant-based gravies.
